Join Megan and Jessica, authors of the book Our Skin: A First Conversation About Race for a special MLK Day storytime, discussion and art activity at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum on January 15th at 4pm! Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr. was not colorblind? He believed that it was important to talk about skin color, race and identity so that we could fix big problems like racism. And just like in the book Our Skin, MLK said “That’s not right!” to things that were unfair, like war. Let’s explore age-appropriate ways to talk about race, racism and a world without war. Go to brooklynkids.org for tickets and info. See you Monday!
