Early Childhood Educator Series

In 2017 we launched a series of educator workshops designed for teachers of children 0-5 in formal and informal settings. The idea was to offer workshops on topics of interest and significance, but that may not be widely available through common professional development channels—including sessions on Race, gender, consent, ableism, and more.

Past topics include:

Talking About Race in the Early Childhood Classroom (Trainer: Center for Racial Justice in Education)

Gender Development, Expression and Play (Trainer: NY Early Childhood Professional Development Institute—PDI)

Bodies, Curiosity and Touching (Trainer: PDI)

Including all Families and Supporting All Children (Trainer: PDI)

Creating Diverse Classroom Book Collections (Trainer: Rachel Payne, BPL Staff, Megan Madison)

Hands-On Art for Young Children (Trainer: Children’s Museum of the Arts)

Project Based Learning for Young Children (Trainer: Materials for the Arts)

Explicit Race Talk for Early Childhood Educators (Trainer: Raising Race Conscious Children)
